Disneyland to debut "Glow with the Show" version of Fantasmic! on August 31, 2012

Disneyland has confirmed that the first public performance of the "Glow with the Show" version of Fantasmic! will take place on August 31, 2012.
The show will take advantage of the same technology that has recently been applied to World of Color performances at sister park Disney California Adventure. This enables guests to purchase and wear "Glow with the Show" ears, which then light up in time with key moments during performances.
The ears are priced at $25 per pair and are available from a number of retail outlets at the Disneyland Resort. Commands are sent to them via infrared, enabling them to be synchronized with key events to add an extra dimension to in-park shows.
Fantasmic! already features plenty of light and sound effects, with fire, water and music being used to bring the Rivers of America to life. A preview of the enhanced show for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members will take place on August 28 from 10pm - 12am.
