Walt Disney World has revealed the first details of the menu items that will be on offer at the Be Our Guest restaurant at the Magic Kingdom when it opens in late 2012.

Housed inside a recreation of the Beast's castle as seen in animated classic Beauty and the Beast, Be Our Guest will offer quick service dining during the day, before switching to a full table service in the evening. The restaurant's 550 seats will be spread across the castle's ballroom, gallery and "west wing", all of which are designed to resemble locations seen in the movie.

Chef Michael Deardorff provided details of Be Our Guest's menu to the official Disney Parks Blog, having moved to the new restaurant from a previous post at Disney's Aulani resort.

For lunch, Be Our Guest will offer a range of sandwiches and salads, many of which will feature a French flavor. This will include Croque Monsieur sandwiches with carved ham, Gruyere cheese, béchamel and french fries, as well carved turkey baguettes. Full meals such as braised pork will also be on the menu.

Disney will break with traditional theme park counter service setups at Be Our Guest, with guests able to order from terminals. However, staff will also be on hand to take cash orders. Instead of being served in cardboard packaging, food will be brought to guests' tables on china.

Dinner is likely to be a more expensive option at the new restaurant, with specialities including pork rack chop with au gratin pasta, salmon in leek fondue and grilled strip steak. A range of sweet desserts, including chocolate cream puff and a variety of cupcakes, will also be on offer.

The Beast's castle will overlook an entire area dedicated to Beauty and the Beast. This will also host a restaurant dubbed Gaston's Tavern, a retail outlet called Bonjour! Village Gifts and Belle's father's cottage. In the cottage, guests will be able to interact with the movie's heroine, as the classic story is re-told in the Enchanted Tales with Belle experience.
