LEGOLAND Florida will celebrate Independence Day 2012 with its first ever dedicated Fourth of July events, dubbed "Red, Brick and Boom".
The events are scheduled to take place from July 4-7, with the park remaining open later than usual in order to accommodate a unique fireworks display at 9pm. The celebrations on July 4 will feature additional elements, including special entertainment offerings, backyard-style games and a family-friendly party in Miniland USA.
Guests viewing the fireworks display will be equipped with special glasses, which are designed to make ordinary fireworks resemble millions of exploding LEGO bricks. As usual at LEGOLAND Florida, the festivities will be aimed primarily at families with children aged 2-12.
Independence Day 2012 will be LEGOLAND Florida's first, with the park having opened to the public in October 2011. In May, it opened its own water park, which incorporates elements of the former Splash Island park that sat on the same site.
