Kings Dominion launches official iPhone, Android applicationsSubmitted by Nick Sim on Friday, June 8, 2012 08:42
Kings Dominion has become the latest in a string of theme parks to launch an official application for devices based on Apple's iOS and Google's Android.
As with the majority of applications offered by other parks, the app features a GPS-enabled map that enables guests to navigate their way to rides, restaurants and amenities. Families and groups with multiple users can use it to track the location of other members, while it is also possible to buy tickets directly through the app.
The app is supported by a wide variety of devices, including various versions of Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as Android smartphones from multiple manufacturers. It can be downloaded for free via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.
In a statement, Kings Dominion's marketing director John Taylor said of the new app: "Giving our guests the ability to not only purchase tickets on their phone, but also to find their way through the park with a GPS-enabled map, makes a trip to Kings Dominion more thrilling than ever before and supports our overall marketing initiatives."
