Video: Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop opens at Disney California Adventure

The new Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop has officially opened at Disney California Adventure, becoming the first of the chain's stores to be installed in a Disney theme park.

The new outlet in the Pacific Wharf area of the park was opened on June 7, 2012, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse in attendance. It is being operated by renowned chocolatier Ghirardelli, with every guest being offered a sample of Ghirardelli Squares Chocolate.

Disneyland Resort President George A. Kalogridis, Disney California Adventure Vice President Mary Niven and Ernst Tanner, CEO of Ghirardelli's parent company Lindt & Sprüngli AG were on hand to open the Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, as seen in the video below:

While it has never opened a store in a Disney theme park before, Ghirardelli does already operate a similar store in the Downtown Disney shopping and entertainment district at Walt Disney World.
