Cast Members at the Disneyland Resort were able to preview the Cars Land area at Disney California Adventure for the first time on Saturday, June 2, 2012.

Further previews are expected to take place for Cast Members and Annual Passholders over the next week, ahead of Cars Land's official debut on June 15. Around 4,000 people visited the area on Saturday, with all of the area's rides, shops and restaurants in operation. A further 10,000 people took part in a second preview event on Sunday.

Inspired by Pixar's Cars movies, Cars Land is designed to celebrate the golden age of motoring in the US. It is based around a recreation of the fictional town of Radiator Springs, with a version of Route 66 running through its center. The area is dominated by the $200 million E-Ticket attraction Radiator Springs Racers, and also hosts two smaller rides: Luigi's Flying Tires and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree.

Mice Age's Al Lutz posted the first detailed review of Cars Land online, praising the overall level of immersion that it offers guests. While criticizing the Luigi's Flying Tires attraction, Lutz praises Radiator Springs Racers, saying: "Not since the Indiana Jones Adventure in 1995 has the Disneyland Resort offered a full-experience E-Ticket [attraction] to plan a vacation around, but the Racers may be that type of ride."

Disney has released a video showing off Cars Land during the preview events, which is embedded below:
