LEGOLAND Florida has broken an unusual world record ahead of the public debut of its new water park on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
1,355 volunteers took part in an attempt to break the record for the "most beach balls in the air simultaneously", breaking the previous record of 400. The achievement is expected to be validated by Guiness Book of Records inspectors over the next few days.
Orlando Attractions Magazine was on hand to capture the record-breaking moment on video:
The LEGOLAND Florida Water Park hosts a number of slides, a lazy river, a water playground and a large wave pool. Several of these attractions have been inherited from Cypress Gardens' Splash Island water park, which once sat on the same site.
More details of Florida's new aquatic attraction can be found in Theme Park Tourist's recent report on the LEGOLAND Florida Water Park's attraction line-up.
