Walt Disney World will host its second annual Car Masters Weekend event at its Downtown Disney district on June 2-3, 2012.
The events are dedicated to Pixar's Cars movies, and a range of activities will be on offer this year. Guests are able to meet-and-greet popular characters including Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile, as well as viewing more than a hundred classic cars. Entry to the events is free.
As at least year's events, visitors to Downtown Disney's RIDERMAZERZ store will be able to build and purchase Cars toy vehicles. Elements from existing vehicles can be mixed and matched to produce a complete unique creation.
New for this year is a go-karting activity, which will be offered by Walt Disney World's Richard Petty Driving Experience. Hosted in Downtown Disney's Parking Lot "K", High-Performance Karting will challenge participants to achieve the best lap time in their group. It will be open to licensed drivers aged 16 and over, and will cost $20 per person for the first turn and $10 for additional rides. The karting track will opeate from 9.30am to 7pm.
Other elements that will form part of the Car Masters Weekend 2012 will be Cars topiaries, face painting and the chance to watch Cars and Cars 2 at the AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex. Chevrolet, which sponsors Epcot's Test Track attraction, will also put a number of its new models on display.
