Images: Disney California Adventure's Cars Land lights up at night

Disney has released new images showing off the neon lights that will illuminate the new Cars Land area at Disney California Adventure when it opens on June 15, 2012.

Dozens of lights will be used to create a Route 66-style look in the new land, which is the first major expansion at Disney California Adventure since its 2001 debut. The area is based around a recreation of the famous "Mother Road", which will be lined by attractions, restaurants and retail outlets. Two of these - Flo's V8 Cafe and Ramone's House of Body Art - can be seen in the images below.

Cars Land will be dominated by the $200 million E-Ticket attraction Radiator Springs Racers, and will also host the smaller Luigi's Flying Tires and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree rides. It marks the final phase of a $1.1 billion series of upgrades to Disneyland's sister park.
