Disney confirms delay to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster at Magic KingdomSubmitted by Nick Sim on Monday, April 30, 2012 08:30
Walt Disney World has revised the timeline for the expansion to the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland area, confirming that it will now be completed in 2014.
The final element of the updated area to be completed will be the highly-anticipated Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, which was originally due to open in late 2013. Opening dates for several other new and updated attractions in Fantasyland have also been revised or reaffirmed.
In July 2012, the second of two Dumbo the Flying Elephant attractions will debut in the Storybook Circus sub-land. Alongside this, an interactive queue line hosted inside a giant circus tent will open for the first time. The adjacent Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station water playground will also begin operations.
Several other attractions are due to open "in time for the 2012 holiday season", which is likely to refer to late November or early December. This includes the Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid dark ride, the Be Our Guest restaurant, the Gaston's Tavern dining location and the Enchanted Tales with Belle and Ariel's Grotto meet-and-greet locations.
Several elements of the expanded Fantasyland have already opened, including the first of the two Dumbo rides in Storybook Circus.
