Disney has released a new video that explains further details of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, the new interactive game that is currently undergoing testing at Walt Disney World.
The video features Disney Imagineer Jonathan Ackley, who led the project to develop the new game. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom challenges players to become apprentice sorcerers for Merlin the magician, before helping him to overcome an army of Disney villains that are threatening the park.
The new game is already being tested by visitors to the Magic Kingdom, and is expected to be opened up to all guests in late February. Players use special playing cards to cast spells, as well as searching for magic symbols that will lead them to the villains' hiding places. 70 different spell cards will be available, with guests receiving five free cards when they sign up to play.
The new addition is similar in concept to the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure at Epcot, which takes the form of an electronic scavenger hunt. Launched in January 2009, the experience at Epcot sees guests using "Kimmunicator" devices which can be used to trigger events in the grounds of the World Showcase pavilions.
