Disney has released a new video that explains the how the mock mountain range that forms part of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure was created, ahead of its debut in June 2012.
In the video, embedded below, Disney's rockwork art director Zsolt Hormay discusses the two-year process that was used to create the Cadillac Mountain Range, which sprawls over much of the Cars Land area. The peaks are designed to resemble those seen in Pixar's Cars movies, which inspired the expansion at Disney California Adventure.
Anchored by $200 million E-Ticket attraction Radiator Springs Racers, Cars Land marks the final phase of a $1.1 billion series of upgrades to Disney California Adventure. The expansion will also feature two other rides - Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi's Flying Tires, as well as two themed dining locations.
