Alton Towers will debut its new Fried Chicken Company restaurant on February 11, 2012, with the outlet replacing Kentucky Fried Chicken in the X-Sector area of the park.
Towers Times reports that the new restaurant will open in time for the park's February half term events. Similar outlets already operate at Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND Windsor, and the Alton Towers version is likely to be largely identical.
Owner Merlin Entertainments Group has been gradually phasing out third-party restaurants from its UK theme parks over the past few years. At Alton Towers, Pizza Hut has already been replaced by the Merlin-operated Pizza Pasta, although Burger King continues to operate several dining locations at the park.
As in previous years, Alton Towers will also open from 10-4pm during the February half term week (which runs from February 11-19). Tickets for the February events will be priced at £19.80 for adults, and £12 for children. A select number of rides will be open during half term, with the park's two new additions for 2012 (Nemesis: What Lies Beneath and Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The 4-D Experience) both due to open on March 24, 2012.
