"One More Disney Day" coming to Disneyland and Magic Kingdom on February 29, 2012

Magic Kingdom castle image
Guests will be able to stay in the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland for longer than ever before on February 29, 2012.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom will remain open for 24 hours on February 29, 2012, Disney announced on New Year's Eve.

The 24-hour marathon, which will take place on the additional day at the end of February during a leap year, will be preceded by a series of giveaways. Both Disneyland Park and the Magic Kingdom will open at 6am on the morning of February 29, with guests able to remain in the parks until 6am on March 1.

Disney is giving away one vacation package every day during the period leading up to the leap day. Details of how to enter the prize draws can be found at disney.go.com/memories. Entrants must be residents of the USA or Canada (excluding Quebec), and be aged 18 or over.

In previous years, Disney has run special promotions covering all of its US theme parks, such as the "Give a Day, Get a Day" volunteering programme from 2010, and a 2009 offer that enabled guests to enter the parks for free on their birthday.
