A senior figure at Universal Creative has stated that there are currently "no plans" to open a version of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Singapore.
Thierry Coup, a Senior Vice President at Universal Creative, was asked about the rumored addition of a Potter-themed land to the Singapore park at the launch of Transformers The Ride last week. Straits Times quotes Coup as saying: "There may be rumors out there, but there are no plans for that currently".
Coup's statement is likely to strengthen rumors that a version of the Wizarding World will instead be installed at Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal Studios President Ron Meyer recently revealed that Harry Potter attractions are in the works for theme parks outside of Florida, where the original is located at Islands of Adventure.
If there are no plans to add a Harry Potter land to Universal Studios Singapore, then only two candidate parks remain: Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan. Universal is expected to confirm as early as this week that the Hollywood park will open its own Wizarding World.
