Universal Studios Singapore has officially opened its latest new addition, Transformers The Ride, with a star-studded launch event.
Michael Bay, the director of the Transformers movie trilogy upon which the attraction is based, was on hand to open it. Using technology inherited from The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure, Transformers The Ride places guests into the middle of a battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons.
Universal Studios Singapore released an official video from the launch event, which includes comments from Bay and reactions from some of the first riders to experience Transformers The Ride:
Universal Studios Hollywood is planning its own version of the new ride, which will be known as Transformers: The Ride - 3D. The US version is due to open in spring 2012.
