Employees at Universal Studios Singapore have been taking test rides on Transformers The Ride, ahead of its official opening on December 3, 2011.

The park's new addition is based on the Transformers movie series, and will place riders into the center of a battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons. One employee has posted a detailed, spoiler-filled breakdown of each of the ride's scenes on the WFW2005 forum.

Transformers The Ride's scenes include subway tunnels, city streets and rooftops, with riders being carried by a new Autobot known as EVAC. The story of the 4-minute ride is a natural follow-up to the movies, rather than based on them directly. It is told through a variety of simulator and 3D effects, and features a very similar ride system to The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at Univeral Orlando's Islands of Adventure.

The attraction's waiting area is themed around a top-secret facility operated by NEST, the shadowy organisation that features in the Transformers movies. At its heart lies a shard of the AllSpark, a cube of energy that creates life from mechanical objects. This triggers the ride's plot, with the Decepticons determined to get their hands on the shard.

Universal Studios Hollywood is planning its own version of the new ride, which will be known as Transformers: The Ride - 3D. The US version is due to open in spring 2012.
