Disney has begun testing new Chevrolet-themed vehicles on the Test Track attraction at Epcot, in a potential prelude to a major overhaul of the attraction.
Twitter user shawnathon33 captured the image below of one of the vehicles undergoing testing on the ride. The Chevy-branded "car" features a blue color-scheme, and could form part of a long-rumored new fleet of vehicles for Test Track. While it features an improved in-car display, it is otherwise very similar to the existing vehicles.
Opened in 1999, Test Track is sponsored by Chevy owner General Motors and takes guests through a simulated set of tests on a new car. It sees guests seated in mock cars as they traverse a set of low-speed indoor tests before racing at speeds of up to 65 miles per hour around an outdoor section.
Inside the Magic reports that the replacement vehicles could be part of a rumored refurbishment for the ride. This would see it close for an extended period in early 2012, potentially to introduce an all-new storyline based around cars being manufactured rather than tested. However, these rumors are yet to be confirmed by Disney itself.
