Dreamworld Australia has confirmed that it plans to open a new Zamperla Disk'O ride in June 2011, with the ride set to be named Shockwave.
Shockwave will be similar to other Disk'O rides around the world, and will seat 24 passengers at a time on its circular vehicle. This rotates at 12 revolutions per minute as it travels up and down a 63-metre-long track, exerting forces of 2.5G on its riders. The new attractions is expected to open to guests in time for the school holidays, which begin in June.
The new addition will be located in the Ocean Parade area of Dreamworld, and will feature a bright green track. During its 90 second ride-time, it will hit a top speed of 54 kilometres per hour (33.5 miles per hour). Guests will be held in place by a dual restraint system.
Zamperla produces several different variations on the Disk'O, which has proven to be one of the company's most popular rides.
