Flamingo Land has become the latest in a string of theme parks to release its own iPhone application, providing details of its rides, shows, zoo exhibits and restaurants.
The Yorkshire, England-based park has worked with Theme Park Nerd to develop the application, which is available for free from the Apple App Store. The developer is also behind the Thrill Seeker application (previously reviewed by Theme Park Tourist), and the Flamingo Land app reuses much of the same code.

Using the app, guests at the park can read information on the park's attractions and food outlets, as well as additional information such as feeding times for the animals in the Flamingo Land zoo. They can then use the GPS capabilities of the iPhone to navigate to their desired location.
Flamingo Land is following the footsteps of other UK theme parks such as Thorpe Park, which released its own iPhone application last year. In addition to providing a detailed guide for guests, the application may also help to generate revenue by enabling ticket sales directly from the phone, and by promoting the resort's holiday homes.
