Walt Disney World reveals winter closure dates for Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks

Blizzard Beach will close on January 9, 2010 for a 2 month rehab.

Walt Disney World has revealed the planned dates for the temporary closure of its Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks during winter 2010-11.

Both of the water parks will shut down completely to allow refurbishments to be carried out during the cold weather season. Typhoon Lagoon will be shuttered between October 31, 2010 and January 9, 2011 while Blizzard Beach will be closed from January 9, 2011 through March 20, 2011.

Disney regularly updates the park calendars on its official website to show planned ride closures, with the list showing planned "rehabs" over the next six months. Note that while Disney generally publishes these well in advance, it is not uncommon for rides to be closed at short notice.
