Disney has confirmed that the Main Street Electrical Parade will make its return to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on June 6, as the resorts "Summer Nightastic!" celebrations begin.
The parade has not been seen at the Magic Kingdom since 2001, when it was moved to Disney's California Adventure. The latest version will feature several new floats, featuring Tinker Bell, Pinocchio and Snow White. New LED lights and audio technology will complete the upgrades to one of Disney's most popular parades, which will run throughout the "Summer Nightastic!" events, ending on August 14.
Disney has been showing off some of the new additions to the Main Street Electrical Parade following the arrival of the floats in Florida. Several preview videos have been posted online, including the two embedded below courtesy of Stitch Kingdom and Inside the Magic.
"Summer Nightastic!" will see also a special summer fireworks show - "Summer Nightastic Fireworks Spectacular" - replacing the current Wishes fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom for the duration of the events. Meanwhile, Epcot will host the return of the Sounds Like Summer concert series from June 12-July 31 (see the line-up here), and Disney's Animal Kingdom will have its opening hours extended several nights a week.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will receive a long-awaited update, adding new lighting effects and a new drop sequence.
