SeaWorld Orlando's Aquatica water park has opened its new Omaka Rocka slides to the public, completing the park's first expansion since its 2008 opening.

Omaka Rocka's two slides share a tower with the existing Whanau Way slides, with guests riding in two-person rafts. The slides are ProSlide Topsy Turvy models, and include a series of three "funnels" where riders swirl in the current before being sent on down the next section. Portions of the slides are enclosed, although the slides themselves are semi-transparent to allow guests below to see riders travelling down them.

Aquatica claims that the funnels provide riders with a feeling of "near weightlessness". However, Screamscape reports that the park may have been forced into extreme measures to reduce "excessive speed" on the funnel sections, with claims that the park has installed bumps ahead of the funnels to slow down riders.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Aquatica has also introduced a new "After 2pm Pass" which allows admission after 2pm for the remainder of 2010. The pass is available for $49.99, and does not feature any blackout dates.

The park has also introduced "Premium Cabanas", which are premium spaces similar to those introduced at Walt Disney World's water parks last year. The cabanas are located between Aquatica's two wave pools and include an all-day locker, up to 16 free beverages (soft drinks, water or juice) and a ceiling fan. Pricing varies throughout the season, with a minimum cost of $174.99 per day.

For those looking for an even more upmarket experience, Aquatica's "Ultimate Cabanas" include a dining table for 6, plus a second cabana with additional seating including a couch, plus a coffee table. The luxury cabanas ar priced at $599.99 per day, excluding park admission. Reservations for Premium and Ulimate Cabanas can be made by calling 800-327-2424.
