Walt Disney World's Summer Nightastic! to run from June 6 - August 14

Disney has announced that the Summer Nightastic! celebration at Walt Disney World will take place between June 6 and August 14, 2010.

Summer Nightastic! will see the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade to the Magic Kingdom, along with a special summer fireworks show. Epcot will see the return of the Sounds Like Summer concert series, while Disney's Animal Kingdom will have its opening hours extended several nights a week. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will receive a long-awaited update, adding new lighting effects and an updated drop sequence.

The Main Street Electrical Parade has not been seen at the Magic Kingdom since 2001, having been situated at Disney's California Adventure for the last few years. Summer Nightastic! will see an updated version of the parade, which will include new floats starring Tinker Bell, Pinocchio and Snow White.

Disney is looking to Summer Nightastic! to help it compete with Universal's $200 million Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which is due to open by May 28. To help keep guests away from Hogwarts, it is offering discounts ranging from 25% to 45% on accommodation at on-site hotels for travel through August 14 (excluding stays between March 28 and April 10).
