An "authentic" pizzeria will be opening at Walt Disney World's Epcot next year, adding to the line-up of restaurants in the park's World Showcase.
The pizzeria will be located in the Italy Pavilion, and will serve pizza from wood-burning ovens alongside other traditional Italian dishes. Disney says the restaurant will feature Florentine-style architecture, and will include an outside dining area. No name has been revealed for the new restaurant, which is scheduled to open in fall 2010.
The pizzeria will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, which runs around 30 upscale eating establishments in New York and Los Angeles. These include flagship locations such as The Sea Grill in New York's Rockefeller Center and the Rooftop Grill in the Hollywood Bowl. The chain also controls the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse chain, which has 10 restaurants across the United States.
World Showcase features a large number of full-service restaurants and quick-dining locations, each themed to blend in with country-specific pavilions.
