New rides for 2010 at Lightwater Valley
Submitted by Nick Sim on Monday, January 18, 2010 21:23Lightwater Valley in Yorkshire, England is to add two new rides for its 2010 season, which begins on March 27.
The first of the two rides is Whirlwind, a Mondial Topscan which is being rented from showman Alex Crow. The ride is a similar model to Samurai at Thorpe Park, and sees guests sit on rotating gondolas which rotate freely throughout the ride. The attraction, which is normally known as Top Buzz 2, will be on loan to Lightwater Valley for a year.
The second "new" attraction is a major update to the The Rat, the park's oldest rollercoaster. It will be updated to a new theme, Raptor Attack, which sees the carnivorous dinosaurs attacking riders in abandoned mine shafts. The park is estimated to be spending around £500,000 on the upgrade.

wow you're getting rid of
wow you're getting rid of sewer rat?
Not quite...
As far as we understand it, the park has just updated the theme of Sewer Rat, rather than replacing the actual ride.
Can anyone confirm this?
