Universal Studios Hollywood is yet to reopen its "Creature From the Black Lagoon: A Raging, Rockin' Show", despite promising it would return after the Halloween Horror Nights events.
The show only debuted on July 1, but received poor reviews and has been closed frequently since. The most recent closure came during Halloween Horror Nights in October, and the park has not brought "Creature From the Black Lagoon" back since. Given that Christmas is a very busy season from the park and sees even unpopular attractions opened, it is likely that the show will never be back.
Creature From The Black Lagoon sits on the site of the former Fear Factor Live show, which closed last year. When it opened, Universal claimed that "from the production's first moments, guests will be thrust into an unexpectedly outrageous, bizarrely romantic, melodic and often outlandishly comic adventure as this monster classic is re-imagined for the 21st Century."
The show is based on the classic monster movie, and is a Broadway-style musical featuring an original score. At 25 minutes long, it is a major production and features one of the world's largest puppets in the role of the "Creature".
Have you been to Universal Studios Hollywood recently? Has the park reopened "Creature From the Black Lagoon", or is it gone for good?
