Walt Disney World announces 2010 Star Wars Weekend dates

Walt Disney World has announced the dates for 2010's Star Wars Weekends, which will take place at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The events, themed around the Star Wars movies, will take place on May 21-23, May 28-30, June 4-6 and June 11-13. As in previous years, the events will feature special parades, shows, autograph sessions with stars and sales of "one-of-a-kind" Star Wars memorabilia.

2010's Star Wars Weekends are likely to see a special tribute to the Star Tours attraction, which will close in October to make way for Star Tours 2, an upgraded 3D version. Another major Star Wars event - Star Wars Celebration V - is already set to take place in Florida next year (August 12-15) to coincide with the original ride's closure.

In previous years, Star Wars Weekend entry has carried no extra charge over and above the usual Disney's Hollywood Studios admission fee. This is expected to remain the case for the 2010 event.
