Christmas-stealing thief the Grinch is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and Islands of Adventure for the 2009 holiday season.
"The 13 Days of 'Grinchmas'" will take place from December 19-31 at Universal Studios Hollywood, and will include blanketing areas of the park with fresh snow. The event is included with standard admission, and will give guests the chance to meet characters from Dr Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas - including the Grinch himself.
The centrepiece of the celebration will be a 50-foot tall "Grinchmas tree". A nightly ceremony will see the tree lit up, accompanied by a "Whoville" choir singing carols. A special holiday playground will also be set up, allowing guests to build snowmen using some of the tons of imported snow. A special Christmas version of the park's Studio Tour will include sets from the movie itself, with actors re-creating scenes from the film as the tour's trams pass by.
Meanwhile, Islands of Adventure's Seuss Landing area will be transformed into a Grinchmas-themed wonderland. This will include a special Grinchmas live-action show, which will run from December 5 through January 1. Show times can be found on the Islands of Adventure website.
I wish I lived closer so I could go
It sounds so fun- I bet the tree will look amazing. I love christmas!
