Legoland Windsor aims to add Pirate-themed ride

Legoland Windsor has applied for planning permission for a new pirate-themed attraction, to form part of the Pirates Landing area that is opening in 2010.

The planning application was picked up by the Maidenhead Advertiser newspaper. Screamscape speculates that the application could be for a pirate-themed Splash Battle attraction (similar to Battle Galleons at Alton Towers), however it is also possible that a simpler ride such as swinging ship could be installed.

The Pirates Landing area will incorporate several existing attractions, including the Pirates Falls log flume.
