Surrender in 2010 at Alton Towers

Alton Towers has seemingly revealed the name of its new rollercoaster as Surrender in a new poster on the park's website.

Until now, the ride has only been referred to as "Secret Weapon 6", in a continuation of the park's traditional code-naming format for new rides. It is set to open in March next year, with coaster's track currently being put into place.

The poster features the tagline "Ride the Demon of the Dark Forest". The image on the poster suggests that the ride will be themed around a haunted forest (as previously rumored), but reveals little else.

Few details of SW6 / Surrender have been released to date, except that it will include world's first features - typical of "Secret Weapon" coasters, which have included the world's first inverted rollercoaster (Nemesis), first vertical drop coaster (Oblivion) and first flying coaster (Air). It is believed to be a steel rollercoaster with both forwards and backwards sections, and is targeted at a family audience.
