Disneyland's Space Mountain undergoes Ghost Galaxy makeover
Submitted by Nick Sim on Thursday, July 16, 2009 06:29Space Mountain at Disneyland will be converted to a "spooky" halloween theme as part of a host of special activities at Disney's California parks.
The rollercoaster will be temporarily updated to become Ghost Galaxy from September 25 through November 1, with a new soundtrack and ghostly projections featuring in the darkened ride building. The theme has been seen before, at Hong Kong Disneyland's version of Space Mountain back in 2007.
Disney will also update the nightly fireworks display with a Halloween theme, with Jack Skellington (from the Nightmare Before Christmas movie) hosting the show. Famous Disney villains such as Captoon Hook (Peter Pan) and Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmations) will feature in the show, and will also wander the park handing out treats.
Meanwhile over at Disney's California Adventure, "Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party" will allow children to dress up and trick-or-treat throughout the park. The event will require a separate admission fee and will run on October 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and 31. Games, music and a Disney character parade will also feature.
