Disney's Animal Kingdom has always closed earlier than Walt Disney World's other parks, partly because of the need to protect its animal residents from excessive noise. However, that all changed with the debut of Rivers of Light new night-time spectacular. The show is being updated from May 27th 2019 to include animations such as the Lion King.

The show is hosted around and above the Discovery River and features live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery.
