Gaston's Tavern in New Fantasyland

Most Disney fans are well aware of the park’s iconic snack options. If you can find it on a tee shirt or air freshener, chances are good that nearly everyone knows about it. If you’re looking for something a little more original, however, you might not know where to start your search.

Here are some of the lesser known snack options on Disney property.

1. Chili Cheese Fries from Cosmic Rays in Magic Kingdom

Looking for something salty to satisfy your craving? Stop in Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. This plate of piping hot fries smothered in cheese sauce and chili is a great snack option. You can even doctor it up a bit at the toppings bar if you’d like to add onions, mustard, or a little something else to your order.

2. Roasted Pork Shank from Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom

The turkey leg is a classic choice of theme park snacks, but if you’re not in the mood for poultry, Gaston’s Tavern in the new Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom offers a tasty alternative. Instead of a turkey leg, try the Roasted Shank instead. As an afterthought, the proprietor of the tavern posted a little note to the menu so you know just where the shank comes from.

While you’re in the tavern, why not complete your order with a frosty side of LeFou’s Brew? This frozen beverage has an apple juice base and a fruity foam topping.

3. Mini Donuts from Blizzard Beach

The snack stand at Blizzard Beach serves up a fresh treat that’s hard to compete with if you have a sweet tooth. Fresh mini-donuts are served up with a cinnamon sugar topping that’s sure to leave you licking your fingers. Best of all, they come with your choice of chocolate or raspberry dipping sauces. (I get both!)

The pork shank is absolutely disgusting, and looks even worse.

Are all these snacks eligible as a snack credit via the dining plan? Just curious. I thought I'd read the pork shank wasn't.

You nailed two of my favorites: the pork shank and the caramel chocolate cookie. If you're walking on the Boardwalk, don't miss the foot-long corn dog either. Can't wait to try the Cronut next time!

The cronuts are amazing! My family loved it even the picky ones. Can't wait to go back and eat some more!

You left out the school bread in Norway at Epcot. The absolute best!
